Tiger Woods said Monday that “the Riv is just not ready,” responding to the news last week that the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational, which had to move from its traditional home at Riviera Country Club in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires,

The PGA Tour recently announced that Torrey's South Course would replace Riviera Country Club this year after a devastating wildfire in Pacific Palisades, California.

Tiger Woods admitted that it was "very difficult" to relocate The Genesis Invitational to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego in the wake of the wildfires in California.

Keeping the tourney in California and the proximity to Riviera Country Club were primary factors for selecting Torrey Pines for the Feb. 13-16 to the event.

The PGA Tour is moving the Genesis Invitational out of Riviera next month out of respect for the deadly wildfires that have decimated parts of Los Angeles, including the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood where Riviera is located.

The Southern California native said there are ‘so many other things that are bigger’ than the tournament scheduled next month in Pacific Palisades.

Torrey Pines is hosting the Farmers Insurance Open this week saving Genesis the difficulty of preparing for a major event in less than a month.
