The new GT350's supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 usurps the melodic Voodoo engine, and the track-ready GT350R has over 830 ponies.

The latest Ford Shelby GT350 packs up to 810 hp and a race car-derived GT350R version adds another 20 hp on top.

Ford may no longer have the rights to build a GT350, but Shelby American has their own solution — with an 810-hp supercharged V-8.

Shelby is bringing back the GT350, in two models, the GT350 and GT350R. Naturally aspirated versions of the GT350's 5.0-liter V8 will make 480 hp on 93-octane pump gas, while supercharged V8s will make 810 hp.

Buyers have a few powertrains to pick from. The standard GT350 makes 430 horsepower from a naturally aspirated version of the Coyote V-8. In addition, there’s the supercharged version with 810 horsepower. Finally, the GT350R increases the output to what Shelby lists as 830+ horsepower.

Shelby American's new GT350 and GT350R celebrate 60 years of the original GT350R, which debuted on January 27, 1965, while jumpstarting a new Trans Am racing program.

Shelby American has revived the GT350 for model year 2025. As opposed to Ford's flat-plane V8 thriller from a few years back, the newcomer from Shelby American uses the cross-plane V8 of the GT.

The GT350 is once again a proper Shelby product for the model's 60th birthday, with almost 300 horsepower more than its predecessor.

The latest incarnation is a Shelby American project that comes with an upgraded suspension and up to 830 horsepower.

The street legal 2025 Shelby GT350R has 830+ horsepower and will only be available with a six-speed manual transmission. As in 1965, the 36 Shelby GT350R model cars will be white with two optional painted stripes and graphics packages available; gold/silver/black representing the historic race package and blue/white Shelby heritage package.
