Bitter cold with flurries; timing next snow chance
Flurries are flying Wednesday morning. However, that’s all these snowflakes will amount to today. New accumulating snow will hold off until Friday. A fair amount of cloud cover is still hanging around central Indiana.

A better chance for snow arrives as we wrap up the week. Light snow moves in Friday afternoon and tapers off Friday night, with totals around an inch. A few lake-effect snow showers could linger into Saturday. The cold eases slightly over the weekend, but we’ll stay below average at least through early next week.

While it may begin as a rain/sleet/snow mix, snow will overspread much of North Texas through the day and continue Thursday night. The snow may be heavy at times. Two to five inches is possible. Some locations may receive more than five inches of snow (especially farther north).
