Cell phone video from the scene showed black smoke and heavy flames billowing into the air from the boat explosion on popular Lake Lanier north of Atlanta.

Medical helicopters were called to Lake Martin after multiple people were injured Friday night when fireworks exploded on a boat, according to news and social media accounts. Few details were immediately available. There have been no reports of fatalities, according to the Tallapoosa County coroner.
