Jeremy Smith was ordered released from custody Wednesday morning after the jury reached the not-guilty verdict after a six-day trial.

Jurors on Wednesday found a man accused of shooting and killing another Tesla driver at a supercharger station, not guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges.

Jeremy Smith, 40, was charged with second-degree murder, a Class 2 felony, and reckless manslaughter, a Class 4 felony, in connection with the shooting.

Jurado-Lugo had been identified as a suspect a few days after the murder, but went into hiding. He was arrested in Mexico in August 2023 before being extradited back to Denver in December 2023.
