Very impressive castle in a good state. It looks great by the river especially at night. Entrance was affordable and the information in the rooms informative. Full review by geelongexpat

A true gem among the Irish castles. Nicely preserved, restored, and maintained. The king's hall's tapestries are simply stunning, and the front garden flawless Full review by titor_6791
What is the best idea for transportation from the Dublin airport to Cork, by way of Kilkenny Castle? Ideally, we would love a day tour that is not a roundtrip and were to end in Cork.
A:
Best way is by car. We used a hire car which was convenient and an easy way to access from Dublin. So worth it and no restrictions too !
Should I buy my tickets to the Kilkenny Castle ahead of time for the month of June? I was told by a travel agent that they sell out quickly and you may have to wait hours to get in if you do not have a ticket. If i buy the Heritage card will I be able to get right in or do I wait in line as well? Also, is there a place that I can buy the Heritage card cheaper? I read that it varies from place to place. Debating on buying it ahead of time and having it mailed to my house. Thanks so much for your help.

I would buy ahead of time to be safe. We went in Feb so it was quiet. But what I hear from everyone is that it gets really busy in June!
