Yes! Place is huge! Can cover the place in one full day if you start when they open and can read fast. We only had one day and already planning our return trip to finish!
I'm not sure there is public transportation that reaches the museum as it quite a ways away from a larger city or town. The best bet is to drive here, there is ample parking on the grounds.
Yes, they have scooters to rent. We rented one for the day. As I recall there were several available. Everything was accessible inside the main buildings.
