Really picturesque view, we were very lucky that on the day I visited, it was a clear blue sky, so were able to get some superb pictures, if you like the Lincoln Memorial, you will love this. Full review by F1LoverAnn

This is a majestic structure and is well worth a visit when in Washington, DC. The setting for it is just prefect. Make sure you visit it. Full review by Skip G

This is a nice place to visit. Overlooking the water. Plenty of seating when you get to the top, as people don't seem to stay there that long. (When I got to the top there was no one there). Full review by Tigeriffic69
About how long should we plan on lingering here? My family typically reads some, but not all, markers/inscriptions.

Just wanted to bring closure to this thread. We took the Circulator Bus from the Washington Monument to the Jefferson Memorial. My family lingered here for about 1/2-hour, reading the inscriptions, taking pictures, and admiring the architecture. We were here about 10:30AM on a weekday, and almost had the place to ourselves. We then walked back to the Circulator bus stop. Overall, including walking and waiting for the bus, it took about an hour but could've been cut-down to much less if necessary.
What's the BEST way to get there with the least walking (with a toddler in tow)?

From where can you take a picture of someone so that you can see the whole memorial in the background? You're too close when you're actually at the memorial.

if you rent bikes (very fun for the 10+ kids) there is a path that leads around the tidal basin. There are a few spots we stopped at on that bike path and were able to get beautiful shots of the Jefferson monument with the water in front. I would recommend that location if the weather is decent. The MLK Memorial gives a beautiful clear shot. The bike path gives you more foliage around the memorial. Good luck!
