The 78th Annual Banks BBQ Truck & Tractor Pull has begun
WEBThe Banks BBQ kicked off Friday night at Banks’ Sunset Park with the clink of poker chips and nearly 60 gamblers hoping to win big. While most of the action — including a parade, truck and tractor pull, combine derby, car show, and of course, the famous BBQ — happens on Saturday and Sunday, the weekend officially begins with a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament in Schlegel Hall.

Banks Fire halts small brush fire north of Banks - Banks Post
WEBThe Banks Fire District stopped a small brush fire north of Banks Thursday evening. In the Banks area, 505 Portland General Electric (PGE) customers were without power, according to the utility company’s outage map.. A West Oregon Electric Co-op customer on Hayward & Cedar Canyon Roads said the utility had told customers more than 200 of their meters had also been affected.
